I think that is pretty much propaganda put out by IVF clinics with less than stellar success rates. I went to a top clinic (ORM--Oregon Reproductive Medicine) and they didn't bat an eye to accept me. I had a previously failed cycle at another clinic, previous uterine surgery to remove a septum, I was overweight, etc. They didn't bat an eye.
I don't think CCRM, ORM or SDFC--three of the top clinics out there, cherry pick patients to get their high success rates. I think they have the best labs--state of the art labs, embryologists and doctors at the top of their games. They just really have all their ducks in a row.
The crappy clinic I went to before ORM had a lousy lab, embryologist and used a cookie cutter medication protocol for all their patients--with a very poor outcome and lousy success rates.
